GOLD FIELDS SUPPORTS TARKWA-NSUAEM MUNICIPAL WITH A PAIR OF AMBULANCES.

 




The Gold Fields has donated a fully equipped pair of ambulances to the Apinto Government Hospital and Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Hospital through the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly.

The foundation gave the ambulances to the municipal assembly to help improve healthcare delivery and give quality healthcare to people in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Prestea Huni-valley municipalities.

The ambulances which will be supervised by the respective hospitals are equipped with basic emergency kits such as rescue splints, bandage, oxygen supply units, cot, patient shifting rolls, ambulance chair, ventilators, fire extinguisher among others.






General Manager of Tarkwa Mines, Stephen Osei-Bempah at the handing over ceremony said the donation is to give ultimate assistance to members in the municipalities.

"The two ambulances will be put to good use for the maximum benefit of our community members. We urge hospital administrators to put in place a maintenance plan to ensure that the ambulances remain in condition and serve the community for many years. Maintain the ambulances the same way you would take care of your own private vehicles," he said.

He also urged the respective directors of the hospital to put the fully equipped ambulances in good shape so it can serve the community better for a long period of time.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Director of health, Caroline Eshun-Otoo hinted that the emergency vehicles together with the remaining ambulances will go a long way to power immediate healthcare and emergency issues which needs quick health care in the communities.

"The donations given to both hospitals will reduce maternal death, and emergency issues that need immediate care and enrich tertiary healthcare in the communities," she said.

The Municipal Director of health, Eshun-Otoo, expressed appreciation to the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for fulfilling all their promises to the assembly.

The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. George Mireku-Duker applauded Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for their great support in improving health in the municipalities and also encouraged other companies in the assembly to do their best to support the district.

"I commend the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for their great work and I earn other companies in the municipality to do their best to support the development of the municipalities," he said.
